You Majored in What (home work)

Like the first chapter of the book states often times once you share with others that you are in school, the next question you get is, what is your major?  And most of the time people lie as to not get the many questions that follow, or if you do tell what your correct major is you instantly start telling the person what you are planning to do with this major, because you just know that they are going to ask. As I read the first chapter it is almost as if it was explaining what I was doing this week looking at what will I do with the degree I am perusing or how can I use this degree to peruse other areas not related to this degree. I tell you if you are not strong, this whole perusing a degree can become really frustrating.
I often tell people I want to be a nurse, they often ask me why? Then they would may statement such as I see you more as a business person, you always have great ideas and you know how to put them into program. With today’s economy it is so had to chose a majored that you love, say this to say I love planning events but I would never major in this area because this industry is already over populated. We have to be rational especially when you pursuing a degree later in life. Lets be realistic we can pursue our love once we are financially stable; but when you spend your younger years on a majored that will not be beneficial only to find out that you have to be realistic and start all over on another major the will keep you survival going it is harder than to first create a cushion for you life, and then go after that dream. I may have it wrong but there are many statistics to show that we have to be realistic, yes I love psychology, but at present unless you have a PhD in Psychology you will be in the highest group trying to find a job. Statistics have shown that this degree is among the highest unemployed rates.

Three of the quotes I like in chapter one is you tell people ...

My personality

According to the web site http://typelogic.com/infj.html an article written by Joe Butt it states that, with a personality such as mine “INFJ, beneath the quiet exterior we hold deep convictions about weightier matters of life”. As to this I must say it is a true statement, to share are recent experience at work. I work as atraining for new employee to my departments of the specific system we use recently I was in a meeting with another system administer who needed to make some change to the system, these changes would make his reporting much easier but would make it more difficult for the staff that use the system. I had to highlight that it would not be work efficient for him to make the changes to suit himself but he has to thinks about the additional time it would take the staff already overwhelm to find information in the system if he changes it. In everything I do I find myself thinking how this will affect someone else? As an INFJ I am not easily convince, I always have my guard up; I think about the negative of a situation before I think about the positive, how will it affect me or others negatively? These are always my first thoughts.

Self Assessment part 1

I like to be stimulated mentally all the time I can get bored real easily so I am always looking for a challenge. I am a strong will person I sometime like to do thing right the first time as to not duplicate my work. I like to know that I am able to give an opinion that will be taken and not just look over. I don’t like to work in an environment where a boss do not takes advice from lower level staff. Reason being lower level staff is the ones who are constantly doing the job so the staff has full understanding of the Job.
